After becoming so comfortable already with using Maya i thought that mudbox would be just as easy to get along with but i was quickly surprised by how different it was to use. I wouldn't say it was hard to use, but it was certainly a very different software with different uses but I really enjoyed using it. The problem I have with mudbox however is that I have struggled to find much use with it so far, as I can do pretty much everything I need to do in maya, and so do not require mudbox, but this may not be the case in the future so I shall continue to use mudbox regularly to learn some of the basics incase i need them.

Lava monster edit
Above is the edited piece that I made of the image that we were provided with. I was tasked with changing this clay model into a lava creature and I did so by making it appear as the rocks where floating on the lava underneath the creatures outer layer.

Star ship enterprise modeling exercise.
This was the first time that I had been set the task of modeling a sturdy structure that had a more smooth edge and so at first it came as a bit of a challenge, as before hand i had only been used to modeling things with a more rough edge. I am however quite happy with how my enterprise turned out, I then also imported the maya file into the game that I created for the winter submission, animating it to fly past the observation deck within my game.

2D paint over - 'Lizard Dude'
Through the simple use of painting over line work, I was able to achieve a very effective image of a more detailed 'lizard dude'. From this I was able to play around with the colour of the image, changing the creatures skin tones to best suit different habitats perhaps. However, my favorite of the colorways was the original sandy looking coloured lizard dude and so i went on to apply more detail into this image, adding texture to his skin by overlaying scales and bringing out some of the details in its eye.
